Review:
The Palma Rima Hotel was open to
guests back in 1989 on an
undeveloped part of the
coastline, lodged between the
Senegambia and Kotu resorts, and
340 metres to Kololi beach.
Today, it remains one of the
most popular hotels in Gambia.
The initial accommodation of
larger than average sized
bungalows (23) which were dotted
among the palms and trees, each
of 4 double / triple rooms with
shower and bath, colonnaded
veranda and fan or ac unit
(supplemental). These units are
now accompanied by a bathing
area
tenement block comprised of 3
floors. Of its 60 rooms half
overlook the sandy through road
used by cattle and locals alike
and the other half overlook the
lopsided cloverleaf shaped
swimming pool.
The pool
itself is among the largest in
the country and is surely among the
most beautified and equipped.
There are spacious sundecks with
accompanying bright canvas or
elephant grass parasols; giant
chess; a banana shaped
children's swimming area; a blue
and mustard 'Andalucia Bar'; a
laterite fountain; a raised bar;
an entertainment section and
wooden African statues.
From the 'Moon Light Night
Club', stone sided watercourses
crossed by 3 mini-bridges enter
the bird garden.
Note:
There is a discount room rate for guests
who make a booking on a child-sharing
accommodation basis.
Palma Rima Hotel is suitable for
