Information:
Amiscus
Horizon Limited was founded in Gambia in November 2013 and
began its cement block manufacturing
operations in June 2014. The aim of the company is to make
it more affordable to build
your own home.
The building scheme entails paying for the moulding and storing
of your cement blocks on a monthly basis and when you have
acquired enough building blocks for your house or fence it
is transported to your land absolutely free. It is like building
your own house structure on a 'pay as you go basis'. They
can provide you with a surveyor
to calculate the approximate number of blocks required, whether
it's for a 2, 3, 4 bedroom house or more.
The
Block Saving Scheme means that rather than saving for a bulk
cash investment into constructing your house, you can basically
begin monthly installment payments, and generally within 2
to 5 years you will have all the necessary cement blocks to
go into the construction of your property. After the delivery
of your blocks, if requested, home financing can be arranged
with their home mortgage partner.
Quality Assurance:
Should the blocks in their depot not meet the required building
industry standards, the customer will be refunded in cash
at the market price for the blocks in the Amiscus depot.
Overseas Customers:
If you are living abroad and want to get onto the block building
scheme then you can fill in their online form and continue
communications by email. If you are a customer in the UK or
the USA, you can enquire for the details of their bank account
in those countries, which you can make deposits into. People
in other countries can use money transfer or PayPal.
Other Construction Schemes:
Amiscus has other home financing schemes which should make
the building process simpler and more straightforward for
the low and middle income earners, including The Gambia's
inaugural Building
Materials Exchange Platform.
