Woodpecker Resort Hotel is a small, business and family friendly resort which was formally opened for business on the 18th February 2014.

The hotel is ideal for people transiting through the airport who need to stay over for a night or too as well as those moving further afield such as to Casamance and other parts of Senegal.

If you're a nature lover then make a pre-arrival arrangement to visit the nearby Abuko Nature Reserve or the Tanbi Wetland National Park, or the Lamin Fish / Ostrich Farm with its plentiful bird life, Lamin Lodge and go on a river cruise. You can also pick up a locally made souvenir at the Abuko Pottery Center.

In terms of cleanliness and service it compares well with some of the Gambia's fine tourist hotels that can be found near the beach resorts of Kololi and Kotu. The rooms are well maintained ad offer a wide range of facilities and services such as a telephone line, internet access, air conditioning, satellite TV and an en-suite bathing room. The family suite is spacious, has three bedrooms en-suite, is set on two floors and has a proper equipped kitchen for those who prefer self-catering.
