Company Information:
Chellaram and Sons Ltd. established its business in the capital
Banjul, The Gambia, back in 1958. Its main business activities
are as agent importers & distributors for branded supermarket
products in West Africa.
It imports and distributes Fast Moving Consumer Goods
(FMCG) from the leading MNC's. Their customers include Gambia's
hotels, guest houses, bars, restaurants, supermarkets, convenience
stores as well as the general trade. They have their own fleet
of vehicles that make deliveries. On a daily basis they are
routed to the metropolitan areas in Greater Banjul as well
as to the remote interior of the country.
The firm is a full-service providers of dry, chilled and frozen
foods, beverages, personal care products and household goods.
In 1982 the Chellaram company shifts focus from supermarket
retail to wholesale FMCG distribution in West Africa.
