A regulation that set up the board is intended to encourage businesses
to hire qualified Gambian staff. For hiring an expatriate, they
are required to pay a special tax annually.

The service was set up to guide Gambian business persons in all
areas of business management so as to improve the productivity
of their businesses. It is focused on the development of small
scale entrepreneurship in the country and provides them with microfinance
soft loans.
• Gambis
This is the government agency responsible for issuing aliens'
ID cards, national identity cards, residential permits, work permits
and driving licenses. It is staffed by the IND.
