Arik Air International started operating from Banjul
International Airport (Yundum) on Wednesday 10th June,
2009.
The airline operates flights from the West African countries
of Lagos, Nigeria, to Dakar, Senegal, Freetown, Sierra
Leone and Banjul, Gambia, Accra in Ghana, Cotonou, Benin
& Niamey in Niger. The airline's routes also includes
Heathrow in London (UK) and daily non-stop flights from
Lagos to Johannesburg, South Africa.
The commercial flights service operates 4 times a week:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. check-in closure
75 minutes for international flights and 30 minutes
for domestic.
It is the overseas corporate headquarters of Arik Air
in Lagos, Nigeria, set up to develop the worldwide routes
and realise the vision of founder Sir Arumemi-Ikhide
to deliver the services of global airline with world
class standards.
Established as a management consultancy provider to
the airline, Arik Air International commenced in April
2007, with the remit to bolster the airline's position
in the complex international market. By taking
up position in the heart of London, they have access
to an important international gateway from which to
spread its West African scheduled flight services.
In December 2008, Arik Air launched their first intercontinental
operation from Lagos to London Heathrow. They currently
fly every day from London Heathrow Terminal 2 with their
newly acquired Airbus A340-500, which offers good passenger
comfort. The aircraft offers 36 Premier Class and 201
Economy Class seats. Premier Class passengers enjoy
‘super flat’ beds equipped with 17 inch monitors and
a new generation in-built massage system. It also has
a joint relaxation area which comprises a bar lounge,
sofas and a seat-free space for socialising. |
