Information:
The Consular section of the Gambia's DC embassy provides
travel visas for American passport holders, non-American
passport holders, passport renewals, emergency travel
documents for Gambians, requirements for body repatriation,
Affidavit of Support I-134. These forms can be downloaded
in to save you from applying for the form first. Citizens
can also register with the embassy and apply for a consular
identification card.
How to Apply for a Visa (American
Passport Holders)
Check whether you require a visa to travel to the Republic
of The Gambia or you belong to the visa waiver program
countries, if you do need to apply for a visa, please
follow the steps below. Step
1:
Visit their site and download the visa application form.
Step 2:
Submit the passport with the visa application form to
the Embassy of the Republic of The Gambia with the following:
Pay a nonrefundable application fee in money order payable
to the Embassy of The Gambia for regular visa processing
fee. Three days express service fee is available for
an additional fee.
Same day service is also available.
Submit a valid passport to paste the visa on.
One passport-size photograph on white background (taken
in the last six months; please write name and passport
number at the back and sign.
Prepaid self-addressed/return envelope (FedEx / UPS
or Priority/Express Mail).
Children under 18 years must submit a parental consent
if unaccompanied by parents.
Personal or telephone interview may be required.
Application without the relevant requirements will not
be considered and issuing of visas is subject to the
consular’s approval. Step
3:
Processing of visa for regular services is between 5
– 10 business days. Three days express services are
processed within 3 business days. In both cases, the
processing period refers to the date the application
is received between 10am and 12pm.
