Background Information:
The TTAG is an association of fully licenced and insured
tourist related companies operating in Gambia such as hotels,
tour operators and restaurants.
All its members are committed to following the Code of Conduct
which has been set out by the Gambian Government in order
to protect and ensure the safety
of all citizens and tourists alike.
The Tourism and Travel Association was originally formed as
the Association of Ground Tour Operators to ensure the safe
passage of visitors in The Gambia. The TTAG has since expanded
to include other sectors of the Tourist Industry such as restaurants,
bars, leisure equipment hirers
and shops.
TTAG aims to work together to offer a better service and to
improve safety and standards to the best possible levels which
are required for the modern day visitor. Working closely with
the Gambian tourist bodies and other associations such as
the Gambia Hotel Association,
Association of Small Scale Enterprise in Responsible Tourism
(ASSERT) and Responsible
Tourism Partnership, it is able to improve its quality
of product and services.
