Review: The budget priced guest house is situated away from the tourist traps & near the beach (15 minutes stroll) & amenities such as shops, diners, & taxis. 15 single rooms in cottages with shared kitchen, shower / WC. Each room has mosquito nets & a fan.

Fajara Hotel

Review: The hotel's heyday was back in the 1970s and early part of '80s. Since then it has been in decline, despite occasional efforts at renovation. If you are not discouraged by its sub-standard facilities & want an unbeatable coastal ocean vista then this place is just the ticket. It has 275 standard bedrooms & bungalow suites, each with a private bathroom, balcony or terrace. The main accommodation block is of 3 storeys high, & offers the best sea views from the upper 2 levels.

Francisco's Hotel
Location: Atlantic Rd, near Fajara beach 5-10 mins walk

Review: This is a cosy little hideaway in a superb, serene location, near to up-market stores, bars and the Atlantic beach, which is across the road & over a small hill, or via a side walk next to the Fajara Hotel, southbound. The garden restaurant service is fully functional during the winter holiday season. Francisco's has 12 air-conditioned, furnished rooms, each with shower, WC, satellite TV, mini-fridge, ceiling fan & there is a daily maid room cleaning service.

Leybato Hotel
Location: Fajara beachfront

Over the small hill from Francisco's Restaurant and towards the Atlantic is Leybato. It has oceanfront rooms in African styled round huts or line rooms, each with own shower, wash-hand basin, flush toilet, sitting area & private patio. Sunbeds, parasols & hammocks are also available. *Airport pick-up.

Limbas Hotel

Review: Limbas is a small place in a very quiet residential neighbourhood, just off the Atlantic Road, with peace and tranquillity assured. Bedrooms have a double bed, bathrooms with running hot water, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, fridge, kettle, hair dryers, satellite TV & a private terrace or balcony. Food is prepared by their in-house chef & served al fresco style next to the pool Bantaba (shaded seating area). Drinks are available for sale.

Ngala Lodge
Location: Cliff edge oceanfront, Atlantic Rd.

Review: A luxury, 5 star hotel wedged on a cliff edge on the coast, with some stunning, picture postcard views of rhun palms, the sea and the sweeping swath of narrow beach which widens as you look left. Ngala has 1 bedroom roomy suites & a top notch restaurant. Service & comfort are two words that best describe this quality boutique hotel. The only downside is the lack of taxis on the main road; you need to walk about 400m to the junction of Kairaba Avenue.

Safari Garden Hotel
Location: Quiet area, Fajara M Section, 120m to main rd.

Review: Situated on a residential sandy road they have simple bedrooms, each with twin beds, en-suite bathroom, running hot water, dressing table, chair & private terrace. The atmosphere is friendly & you soon get to know staff by name. Vegetarian dishes are available & barbecue nights mingle everyone together by the poolside. Half-board & bed & breakfast is available.

Sermaho Residence
Location: Fajara M Section.

Review: This place is comfortable, clean & close to the Kairaba Avenue's commercial centre. It has 6 respectable apartments, each with a smart, private bathroom, double bed (feather spring core mattress), lounge area & a small kitchen. Sermaho has a drinks bar & can provide airport transfers. The business / tourist lodge is situated after traffic lights, towards Westfield.
