Information:
AWAG is a UK registered animal charity working in The Gambia.
It was established in 1999 in Banjul (NGO no. 63/1999). It
is a member of the World Society for the Protection of Animals
(WSPA) which is headquartered in London.
Its goals are to encourage better standards of animal care
and relieve animal suffering through veterinary
treatment and educational workshops. Most of the creatures
it helps are stray cats
and dogs. AWAG also advises with the development of
legislation
connected with animal welfare and ensuring it is enacted properly.
AWAG is overseen and run by an Executive Committee which is
guided by a constitution.
