Information:
Monica's
fishing firm was founded in Banjul in the year 2000 and is
engaged in deep layer / deep sea fishing using a couple of
trawlers in and around the territorial waters of Gambia and
the neighbouring Senegal. It employs between 55 to 100 members
of staff and has an annual turnover of over $2.5 million.
Their catch is processed in their own processing factory which
has received official EU certification with regards to hygiene
and safety. This means that they have met the same standards
as products from the EU Member States.
After their seafood has been frozen and boxed in their fish
processing plant it is then shipped for export to the markets
of the UK, Germany, France and other Western European countries.
