Information:
The BGA is an organisation representing ornithologists which
was founded in 2006. The association has been legally formalised,
and registered with the Gambia
Tourism Authority.
Some of the clauses of their constitution means that the bird
guides have made a commitment to Gambian conservation,
allowing financing to be spent on community projects
around the country. Each project will have a professional
bird guide as the Project Manager who will liaise with the
village Alkalo (chief) to ensure successful management of
each individual community project.
